My name is Raja Venna. I’m a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. I majored in finance and minored in MIS. I am employed at Bank of America working in global operations. Currently, I am automating manual workflows for various banking processes and exploring use cases for generative AI in the banking industry. This experience has been extremely rewarding as I have been able to learn much about the current infrastructure in corporate banking and it's future in a rapidly changing tech and economic landscape.
Growing up, I was always interested in the startup space. From extracurriculars to work experiences, I focused specifically on gaining a diverse background in business operations. I fell in love with the transparency that came with working at mission-driven startups and small businesses. If you messed up, you couldn't hide from it. If you succeeded, you could see it. Previously, I worked at Stashrun, a mobile platform gamifying consumer charitable donations, and Cherryish Yourself, a merchandise-brand raising awareness/support for victims of sexual assault. More recently, I have begun exploring opportunities in the fintech space, primarily in payment innovations. As part of my goal to join the fintech space, I am planning to pursue a masters in analytics and data science roles in the future. Please feel free to check out my resume for more details.
When I’m not working or studying, my hobbies include gaming (almost exclusively the Spiderman PS5 games and Fortnite), cooking, weightlifting, ultimate frisbee, reading, and staying up-to-date on tech and public policy. I think the absolute most important part about being a young twenty something is to lay the groundwork to be pretentious about one hobby that almost no one cares about. Currently, I am pursing multiple. I'm creating a personal HTML website, pursuing amateur filmmaking, trying to get jacked as hell, collecting old forms of multimedia, and attempting to purchase a two door coupe as old as me. I’m always looking to make new connections and learn from others. Feel free to reach out to me!
